I'm an MP, but my advice would suck. 1. I'm an E-6 and don't play with the officers much. and 2. I am yet to do a standard MP mission or training.
I'm really looking into these two branches, along with a change in major(IT if I decide to go signal?). Are there any active members of the forum who are either MP or Signal? I'd love to learn a little bit more about either branch.

From where I stand, there's only two real branches arguably) in the Army that can really have good real world civilian job training. And that's Signal and Transportation. In the BCT that I was in, there is only an MP platoon in the STB. So you'll likely run a detention facility that will hold over for them to be transported to bigger facitlities. At Bragg thy have an MP BDE that does other things. But my interaction with MP units/officers was a thumbs up or thubs down as to whether our detainee packets were filled out correctly. They do some patrolling (I think our MP's served as the BDE CDR's PSD, cannot verify). Of course there is Installation Command, but I don't think LT's serve there. Signal on the other hand has a lot of possibilities and I woud recommend it, especially if you know more than how to turn your laptop on and open PPt.

Ok hero, you have yet to see me be a dick. The only reason I replied to your little thread is because I figured someone would drop my name being that I reclassed to MP. I thought I would be nice and clue you in that I was not a source of information on this subject before someone got your hopes up. I also was fairly nice with my second reply just stating that your reading comprehension needed work vs. what I normally say in person would be something along the lines of "Stop asking me stupid fucking questions before I fucking kill you. Fuckstick."
You can google the tasks of an MP officer. There is plenty of information out there. You were asking for personal experiences and I had already stated I wasn't the guy to give you those.
Oh, and yes, I am this much of an asshole in real life too. There are enough people on this board that have met me that can vouch for that. I honestly do try to help people whenever I can, but I can't stand repeating myself and answering idiotic questions.

Most of the active posters on the board, had a bit of ass in them(minus Skull and Sassy) When the conversation starts going that way you just need to cut static line. Next slide.
I have no experience in either the Signal or MP areas, but on a daily Basis I hate the Army Signal Command(No thumb drive policy, operating system ridiculous~ness, mindless classes we need to take to get access to a computer system, etc) Although i do appreciate the internet while deployed. And then the MPs...whose mission is to pull you over for going 26KpH in a 25 KpH zone on the FOB. Which sounds less gay(sorry if that opffense anyone) to you?

I don't have a little "ass" in me, because he's in the NE & I'm not ghey.
Besides, I'm too old to get mad--I just get EVEN.
& Wes, ever remember when you were shown a new litter of puppies? How they were all bouncy & happy & their little teeth & claws left pinpricks on your hands & arms when you tried to pick them up or do anything with them? Sometimes cadets & new LTs are like that too. Sometimes ya just got ta suffer them. (P.S. I've heard rumors that new E-1s through E-3s, suffering from console controller withdrawl, will react similarly as well.)

I don't play well with others in general. If someone is going to call me out for being a dick/asshole then they better have reason to do so. He isn't my soldier/cadet/Lt so I have even less reason to tolerate his nonsense. I've been working 18hr days, not in the greatest mood either.
