I experienced one of the most random acts of kindness tonight. I went to Pershing Rifles practice tonight with the guys and afterwards we decided to go the Huddle House. I was in my Army ROTC uniform, another PR was in his AF ROTC uniform while the other tow PRs were in their USMC uniforms. We were eating when we see a couple walk in and sit down and eat. They were probably about in their early 30s or so. They finished and left before us, and the waitress goes up to us and says that we should wave to him as he's pulling out of the parking lot because he just paid for our meal. We looked confused and then she hands us a napkin that said

What a nice guy. Makes you appreciate what guys like him have done for this country.

yeah.. been there.

when I used to fly back and forth from West Point to orlando I would usually check in with my military ID. my travel agent always had it noted that a request for a complimentary upgrade was in, for "military appreciation". 75% of the time i ended up in first class with the full treatment.

Christmas 2002 - at a bar in Orlando had a few former recon guys covering my tab

the Green Card of Destiny is what I used to call it.

I had a few guys in Dallas on my way to Ft Hood buy my dinner and drinks at the Chili's in the American Terminal. They were all former Army guys and hooked a young Cadet up.

This topic should probably be in the public forums, so everyone can see that some people you may never even notice do notice you and appreciate what you do.

Yeah, i couldn't figure out which forum to put it in, but since it was after PR practice and such, I just threw it in there.
