I've been in the reserves for 2 years now. i also just came out of ROTC. My personal experiences have shown me that there are quite a few NG and Reservists that have a problem passing an APFT. anbody else here have any input.

Not speaking from experience or anything *cough cough
I've heard the same, didn't spend any time in guard or reserves but know plenty who do. Fantastic avatar by the way.

Really, I hadn't noticed a APFT problem until you pointed it out.
Come to think of it, you think there might be a weight problem in the NG?

My ROTC Bn's PT is MUCH harder than my Guard unit.

Most soldiers in my unit can get above 250's on the APFT, but they would have trouble with the PT at my college.

Okay, first off I'd like to be the first to say... how the fuck do you come across a thread that is 2 years old? Do you read AIFA like a book and just happen to respond when you're 2/3 through it? Seriously n00b, how the FUCK do you do it?
Secondly...
The APFT itself is consistant throughout the Army. The soldiers in your unit have to do the same amount of pushups as ROTC cadets, situps, run, whatever. Now preparing for the APFT might be different.

My guess is he just used the search function or read thru "Cadet Land", not actually read through every single topic.
