what up everybody? I just found this place a couple of days ago and figured i might as well drop a line. anyways, i'm a new 2LT from Illinois, branched MP. im goin to MP OBC on 21 september. thats about it. il stop back sometime when im sober.

Back to the subject at hand: welcome LT Ratly, glad to have you aboard. Be sure and let your fellow cop buddies know about the site. Feel free to post whatever and you'll definately have to give us the low down of MPOBC.

He's branched MP... would you wanna sober up? Poor guy... wait 'till he gets to MPOBC and finds out that he'll be manning one of those 'Your Speed Is:' signs for the next year or so.

or maybe instead of putting a MP cruiser on the side of the road with a manikin in it, the'll just put this 2LT. He'll just have to sit there to frighten the drivers into slowing down. Well according to him, he left for OBC today, so I really doubt we'll hear from him again, or at least for a while.

Speaking of MPs, my PMS says the view is quite different from the front of a squad car. But then again, I wouldn't know...

MPs aren't human, they are evil bastards who prey on real soldiers and their families because they may play their music too loud, or happen to drive 2 miles over the speed limit. Have fun on your bike screwing with the real soldiers

That can be said for most any branch. Let's not forget that writing tickets and patrolling on post is just a small part of what MP's do. They are basically used as mounted Infantry. With the type of wars we're fighting these days, MPs will be used more and more. What do you think is going on in Iraq right now? It's basically a large scale police action. MPs are charged with maintaining security for entire cities, often hostile ones.

You can do stuff if you want. Nobody makes you sit at a desk. I've known 2lt to come out and do wrecker missions, work on trucks and do a bunch of army crap. It's up to you. I'm a mechanic
