supposedly the documents that have sent the liberals' hopes skyrocketting in recent days (memos from a now deceased TX ANG LtCol about Bush) were probably made with Microsoft Word...(correct me if im wrong, Bill Gates wasn't even in business in 1968.....

forgot to add, his widow+son say it doesnt look like his and that he didnt type anyways (one would presume a LtCol would have a secretary or something, + wouldnt include in an official memo that he is being told to make bush look good by sources from above....)

Yeah, about that proportional spacing thing... the article i saw on washingtonpost.com said that not only were the letters spaced proportionally in a horizontal manner, but also in a vertical manner... which you can't do unless you know what's on a whole page, and which definitely hadn't been invented then. rep or dem, i love it when people get CAUGHT... ;)

Even if they were real they still didn't say shit.
Kerry's history, however is a matter of congressional record.
You really dont need to dig through any files to see and hear what he did to the Vietnam era soldier, which he did with full understanding and culpable malice.

Any man who fights has the right to dissent

In this country, so do people who haven't fought...

Holt, of course anyone in the USA has that right. However, citizens have the same right to denounce everything a shitbag has spewed out aswell.

And while he has the right to dissent and I agree with that right Kerry did not have the right to lie. Thats what this is about.

lets remain on topic with this one. one of the things i hate about the whole campaign thing is that each side attempts to instead of answering attacks against them, they attack the other in order to distract them. watch Wag the Dog sometime people. if we need to make another post bashing kerry.. wait.. thats what the rest of this website is for ;-) lets just keep this thread for the questioning of the bush documents and nothing else. likelihood? slim but still thought it was worth it to ask.

since when do news agencies apologize for bad stories, sounds like someone in office leaned on them...

holt, it happens when the rest of the news media and the general public that follow the news can see that the certain news agency was being so sloppy with their work (if not lying)...there's this thing called capitalism, and because of this, the news company wants to stay in business by in their case having as many viewers as possible so that their advertisers are happy...many people started to not only stop watching CBS but to boycott advertisers...this means that CBS loses money...
their apology was a financial decision..they're having tough ratings times as it is
if bush really controlled the media (which is laughable because the top 3 network news anchors are all democrats) he would have made sure that the national guard "story" was never publicized in the first place...d*m*a*s

But see, that's just it... by having that "apology" deal, they just brought it back onto page one, so they admitted "hey we were stupid." companies tend not to open themselves up to multiple rounds of bad press... it looses business.
anyone tracking?

Any press is good press when it comes to rating and name ID.

the story wasn't going away on its own...by saying "hey we fucked up..." the story loses its punch...one side will say "CBS LIED..." and the other will say "thats last weeks story, they owned up to it, put it to rest, it has had enough airtime already...."

neo, i'd have to disagree with any press is good press....not always at least, especially when it comes to politics or a scandal.....
the press attention certainly didn't help nixon...
btw, there was some study done that showed the more john kerry received attention, the worse his numbers got...so if thats true any press is not good for him...i believe the analysts were saying something to the effect of "when the ANYBODY BUT BUSH crowd realizes that that means john kerry, they stop for a minute and let out a collective...SHIT THATS NOT WHAT WE MEANT..."

Amen. At least on the issues anyway. The alternative is entertaining the Regis Philbin crowd with hardball topics like "Tom Cruise could play John Edwards in the movie". All the while his campaign shoehorned forged official military documents into the media to libel the President of the United States.
Now that's a strategy I can honestly say is pretty smart. No wonder people question 3 purple hearts and a silver star in 3 1/2 months...
