Hello my Army friends... just out of curiosity, how many folks you guys have here. it kinda seems like there's about 3 of you who dominate most of the threads...
anywhooo... in the next couple of months we (and when i say we i mean i) will be sending a few very good friends your way in a support-type role. A couple of buddies will be moving to Fort Pope (pope afb/ft bragg?) and just wondering if anyone on this here board knows much about that area?

Oh you noticed too? Hey, it's Domer's job to get people on here, not mine Anyways, we can always use some more posters, as I'm getting sick of reading my own.

Yes, I was there for two years, at Ft. Bragg that is. It was a while ago, but I'll see what I can do about answering any questions.

I'm sick of reading Sammy's posts, too. Mine, however, are brilliantly worded nuggets of joy for everyone! Tell your friends to come in! Advice is free, Good advice is gonna cost you!

Really, all joking aside, bewteen the losers in here, we should be able to get you answers you may need. We need specific questions, though, we're all a little retarded.

Well it's your typical large Army installation, perahaps a little more hooah than others because of the 82nd and SF being there. Actually Domer and I were up there this Spring I believe on a stop over from Ft. Useless. Anyways, it's right next to Fayetteville, which is a pretty decent size town with some good civil war historical sites if you're into that. Ft. Bragg has an ice rink, that's about the only thing I remember being on post besides the normal O-club, which is decent. Pope AFB shares it's border with Bragg so you can drive from one to another without hitting civilian dirt, but there still is an ID check at the base gate (or at least there was when Bragg was an open base, they're now a closed installation) Fayetteville is definately a Army town, typical korean barbers/restraunts/massage parlors, tattoo joints and pawn shops galore. Willimington (sp?) isn't too far away and is pretty cool and the beach isn't much further past that. I guess it just depends on how long you plan on staying. Any other specific questions I can help you with?

It's not that bad, well I'm not sure what the Air Force considers bad. But it is better than any Marine base I've ever been to, that's not saying much I know. Hey, I almost forgot, Fayetteville is the home of Putt-putt Golf. Whatya want, that's all I got?

Anywhere in the South is worth going to. There are some bases that are like hell on Earth....but I can't mention them, or why I happened to get stuck in one. There are more people that are/have been involved in the site, they just don't seem to get as involved as some of the forum guys. Plus, it's a relitively new site. Just remember this about the Fort Bragg region....if a local offers you ass candy, don't take it...it's not really candy.
