How do you feel your campus prepared you for LDAC? What do you wish you could change about the curriculum?
Any Comments would be wonderful :)

I was over prepared, but I saw way too many cadets that had no clues. Really it varies from school to school, but some of it is just how motivated the individual cadet is. The more a cadet studies 7-8 and TACSOP on their own, the better off they'll be. Getting leadership time as a cadet is also a big plus, joining a club/society such as P/Rs, S&B, Rangers, etc is a good way to get extra training and leadership time.

S&B gives you leadership experience? Guess that varies from school to school, too..
But yeah, Sammy's right. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how to be a good officer, but sometimes you have to rise above the apathy of your fellow cadets and cadre to do it. That's when it gets tough.

I'm a pretty motivated guy, Army is what I'm planning on doing for the next few years, but something about being evaluated just gets me really nervous. Everyone does, but I just get shaky and stuff. I've done enough Army training to know that I can perform as a soldier, but an actual evalution like at camp just gets to me.

slow, deep breaths Soldado... (hands him paper bag). I have a funny feeling that we'll all get through this just fine.

I think I was way over prepared too...but...I am P/R, ranger team, ect. Me and the group of guys in my class would have our moderator take us out every friday for land nav, constantly ask questions, always be taking charge when others were absenst from lab, and asking for extra lanes on weekends, not to mention mentoring and taking our Is and IIs when they asked to teach them which adversly taught us as well.

Bottom line...if you want to do well at camp...don't be a loud mouth asshole know it all. Be humble for what you may or may not know and ask questions. Pick a book up about leadership and think about how you would want to be lead. 28 days out of camp is just following and doing the "obstacle" of that day, so don't freak out about it. When you are in leadership, be in charge! Everyone gets nervous, I hate being evaluated dude, but that is what is gonna happen, so either let it ruin your evaluation by getting nervous or conqur your ish and remain calm. Evaluators won't fire back at you...it's safe to say that an Iraqi prob will.
