CAMP ASHRAF, Iraq — Iraq security forces raided the settlement of an Iranian exile group that the Shiite-led government has long tried to oust and at least 10 people were killed in the pre-dawn clashes Friday, officials said.

Interesting update on Camp Ashraf. I flew over this Camp weekly for a year, and always thought it was a fascinating situation. While the majority of Iraq was filthy wasteland, Ashraf really did look like an oasis in the desert. There was a brief clash between IP/IA and the exiles while I was there, by mid-deployment we were ordered to circumnavigate the area completely (there had always been a restriction.) Interesting history behind the place if you read up on it.

I know more about that place than I've ever wanted to and I've never even been there. Basically the qualification for ISF to be near there should be: You can't like Sadr.
