I had to start a new topic so we can post some of the incredible stuff that happens…

Is Skull6 still around? I know he would appreciate this… What an AFA education will get you.

An AFA grad is moonlighting as an NFL cheerleader. (where’s the old motto, “Bring Me Men”?)

http://www.airmanonline.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123244687

I won’t go into the discussion from my classmates and other old grads about this article… but… Air Force? Finance Corps? What do you expect?

Dude, its a new era. She was a cheerleader at the Academy (like Ike was), and got the opportunity to do it in the NFL. Marketing GENIUS!!!

You're just mad because the AF gets all the hot chicks... damnit, now I'm mad... and now sad.

She actually came Over Here to Afghanistan with the Washington Redskin Cheerleaders as part of a USO show and she's definitely kind to the eyes. The question going around our shop was...did she draw combat pay for her time over here as a cheerleader? lol!!! I have no qualms if she's advocating for the USO coordinating these trips down range. I do wonder how she can do both jobs though. Oh well. Cheer On!

If AF finance is anything like Army Finance, then I'd say she's probably making more of a positive impact on the GWOT by suiting up in hot pants and tempting GO violations.

My thoughts on the entire subject:
- I don't think academies, VMI, and the Citadel should have cheerleaders. Women fought for "equal rights," and then choose to participate in the "girliest" sport/activity there is? Sorry, there are already enough issues with regular cadets vs. NCAA athletes, so I think this adds fuel to the fire.
- With that being said, I think as long as her command supports this, it's a good recruiting tool. Also, like she mentions, it is hard to find female friends in the military. You seem to run across the extremes: the crazy "I want to be a guy" types and the complete skanks. There truly is a small percentage that manage to find a middle ground, and are tough and not overly girly, yet still feminine. I think it's fantastic that she has something outside of the military that is athletic, social, and fun for her.

I274, I agree with you and I am deeply troubled by this. If someone can pass on her contact information to me, I would like to "talk" to her about her lifestyle.

They were too good to come up to Bostick that's for sure. Not much to offer there except for hot water of course.

Bostick is awesome! You've lost your mind.

Fair enough. Maybe she is. BTW, I think if anyone is probably more assed up about this, I'd ask the first few classes of women out of the academies. However, I don't see how this differs from military personnel who go on The Bachelor, American Idol, participate in pagents, etc.

I think that is what I was hoping for.

Seriously though, Why is this that big of a deal. If there were any real problems then the Air Force probably would have said/done something by now. Chances are she will only be in the Air Force for the bare minimum and will pursue this after for as slong as long she can (probably until she gets ugly). This is probably not to dissimilar than when David Robinson was in the Navy prior to joining the NBA.

You're at Bostick?!? I spent a majority of my tour there.

EDIT: Yeah, he's right. Bostick is NOT bad living, man. Like I said, a majority of my time at Bostick, the rest was mostly at COP Keating. Bostick was AWESOME compared to our smaller COPs and OPs.

With a wave of my M-256 main gun tube, I hereby resurrect this thread...only to answer I274's 1st question. Yes, I am officially "still around."

Now, go back to sleep.
