I think he was referring to the British press, who are good at supporting our troops, with the exception of one paper who really fcuked us over a few weeks ago by publishing faked pictures of some soldiers pissing on an Iraqi. On the whole though, hero stories like your man mentioned in that article make the press. People like to know.
Shame that we're all getting labelled as baby killers and torturers when the vast majority of service men and women are honourable, brave citizens.

That's easy, my friend. Our press is on crack (not craic) and generally likes to make the conservative side and military look bad. They have a political agenda and to further it, a lot of things get slanted terribly.

msnbc headline = "no pullout for US troops certain -- no timeline...." yes that's obviously more important to americans than the fact that hundreds of hours of news coverage that can be summed up with "bush lied, saddam was a peacenik" was totally obliterated over the weekend....btw no mention of WMD anywhere on homepage (and theres at least 50 stories...)

no mention of WMD/sarin incident on the new york times page either...not even their international news page on which there are dozens of stories, even the middle east section has 4, witha total of 10 or so stories on iraq...none to do with the sarin....

on a barely related note...one of the stories i saw when reviewing my post..."student drinks lab chemical on a dare"...omg too funny...they found the student collapsed in a hallway bleeding from his mouth and nose, and his throat had at one point swollen so much that he couldn't talk....but he's recovering....that had darwin award http://www.darwinawards.com written all over it :( maybe next year...
