Whats the policy on wearing CIB's and combat patches (right shoulder) on your cadet uniform?

Don't know the specifics, but I've seen cadets wear many of their active duty patches and accoutrements. This past weekend, I even saw a cadet with a Ranger scroll.

Any and all service ribbons, badges, weapon quals, insignia, and combat patches are allowed. You may wear your combat patch in lieu of your school's patch (why wouldn't you want that?) So rock on Jester, you'll have all those MSI's pissing themselves next time you see them.

Check out CC AR 670-1...

To add to what Sammy said, the only thing is that you canno mix prior service ribbons with cadet ribbons..you need to choose one or the other.

When I was at camp their was a Cadet with his Scroll, CIB, and Mustard stain on his jump wings... Everyone knew he had been to Afghanistan and look at him as if he were a god

Heh we got one of those, Ranger tab, scroll combat patch, combat jump, CIB (he's pissed that afghanistan and iraq don't count as "second award"), AA. Only thing is he's not a cadet yet, until the fall.

As a variation to this question, could you mix service ribbons? One of my buddies who's coming in as a III did 6 years in the USMC, and then joined the guard just in time to deploy. As I understand it, he's allowed to wear some of his marine patches, or rather I think its that he's allowed to transition them? He went to airborne school with the marines, and I know they don't have a patch for that. Does that let him wear army jump wings? He's not big into awards, he wears his BDU's plain, doesn't even like wearing his CIB, says that real marines only wear 3 awards or something. I dunno, I don't listen to most of what he says. His girlfriend is just finishing up OBC now. I can't wait till he gets his commission and she STILL orders his ass around.

We had an ex-SEAL on my team here at flight school. He wears his trident, but isn't allowed to wear his marine jump wings for whatever reason. The Army has a 3 badge limit as well. Gota pick only three: Airborne, Air Assault, Scuba, Halo, Pathfinder, Aviator, AC crew, Flight surgeon, Medic, Doc, etc.
