the world isnt safer now that saddam is out of power? nah not at all.....

"At NYU, he was introduced by faculty members as a "real-life hero," "unbiased and critical," and his comments drew rounds of thunderous applause during his two hour appearance."

Real life hero?? Yeah he ranks right up there with FDNY and the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan...

Well somebody high up in the chain (ahem, the civilian side) definitely fucked up.

Good thing our military kicks ass.

And at least his reports seem a little more consistent than our shady ass leadership:

“He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors. So in effect, our policies have strengthened the security of the neighbors of Iraq, and these are policies that we are going to keep in place” –Secretary of State Colin Powell highlighting the success of containment in Iraq, February 2001

"We know that Saddam Hussein is determined to keep his weapons of mass destruction, is determined to make more. Given Saddam Hussein's history of aggression, given what we know of his grandiose plans, given what we know of his terrorist associations, and given his determination to exact revenge on those who oppose him, should we take the risk that he will not someday use these weapons at a time and a place and in a manner of his choosing, at a time when the world is in a much weaker position to respond?" –Secretary of State Colin Powell’s remarks to the UN Security Council, February 2003
Oh yea, my favorite:
"Pfc. Jessica Lynch, rescued Tuesday from an Iraqi hospital, fought fiercely and shot several enemy soldiers after Iraqi forces ambushed the Army's 507th Ordnance Maintenance Company, firing her weapon until she ran out of ammunition, U.S. officials said yesterday."

Cant seem to take anything at face value anymore, if ever. Shit maybe we'll have bin Laden pop up right before election time too...

I'd put money on that. It's not like we don't know where he is...

He's a sixty-year-old, 6'4" Arab man on dialysis. I'm sure we know where he is.

Nah, Carlos the Jackal was behind the couch. Osama is under the bed. Saddam was in the closet.

Of course this is the public news and therefore not so classified, but it's nothing new that the top dogs have been jumping the Pakistani border for as long as they've been out of Afghanistan.

I can't read your link Gambit, but does it say something like we think Osama is in Pakistan and we should go in and blow the fuck out of it? Cause then we'd at least find some WMD to plant in Iraq.
We've never been at war with a nuclear power before, it might be fun.

A good friend of mine in the 82nd actually almost started WWIII with them, check this...

He at the time was in C Co., 1/319th FA, attached to the 82nd, which was clearing some caves on the border of Pakistan. Problem is, there are two Pakistani borders... the one Pakistan recognizes, and the one everyone else recognizes. They overlap, and the Al Qaeda jokers THOUGHT they were in Pakistan (as did Pakistan)... really, though, they were still in Afghanistan (according to the rest of the world).

So anyway, the 82nd is clearing the caves, and the Pakistani Army shows up and demands that they leave "or else". This makes it back to the CO, who proceeds to cuss a blue streak over the radio about how they're not gonna fucking move, and if the damned Pakistanis want to tell him to leave, they can show up at his tent and ask him, yada yada yada.

Long story short, my friend receives orders to adjust ALL of the howitzers so that they're now directed at the Pakistanis. Who left pretty damned fast.
