Geeez, now I got Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the Wii and it completely owns my time. I told my wife, "see ya next month!" and of course I still found time to fix (sorta) the branches.

Check them out... If yours is showing wrong then go into the CP and change your branch. I swapped some around on the back-end and it may have changed your branch.

This is quick and sloppy code so if your branch is not there anymore, or I'm missing a branch or two, or there's typos... Let me know and I'll fix it!

I'm with Associate on this. The insignia isn't displayed anywhere. Yes I can choose it, but I already know what branch I am, it doesn't allow anyone else to see it. Thought that was the whole point...

You might want to resize the AF, and Army emblem. I haven't checked the other non Army branch icons, but I can see that the AF and Army one (under Aries) is too big.

Also, for the non Army branches, could you switch the emblems to what was previously used? Hap Arnold for AF, EGA for USMC...

Okay, I believe I fixed it. I logged off, still seen 'em and so methinks we're good. I also fixed Logistics branch because I didn't have insignia for it, found it though.

Also, if you have QM as your branch it's because it was the default for some odd ass reason. Army is default now. :)

Because the Cav ceased to exist in 1951 when it was absorbed by Armor. That's why.

Oh yeah, BTW... Every time I add a branch (or remove) it changes everyone's branch below that one. Since Cav begins with a "C" everything below that got bumped down. So alphabetically everyone's branch after Cavalry is off.

Okay, as with my Soldiers and their know-all-regs-in-and-out-mentality, I ask that you quote regulation and paragraph on where that's from. Not that I doubt you, I would simply like to know for reference.

The regulation isn't too damn clear cut. And some say one thing that refers to another and another. The thing that is tough, is that Cavarly isn't a branch. It's an organization.

You can refer to the following and make your own judgement.

AR 670-1, 28-10, but a reference in that paragraph about 28-9 which semi contradicts it

AR 600-82 is an old book and is only 33 pages, and needs to be updated to include new units, especially since the modularization. If there has been an added appendix, then I missed it. For example: 71st Cavalry Regiment does NOT have an HCOR or CSM, but I still have a signed 4187 allowing my affiliation. See Chapter 3 for Combat Arms.

Older but I did find a reference to the old Fort Rucker Blue Book (Ft. Rucker Pam 600-1, circa 2004ish) that stated:

c. Cavalry collar insignia and hats. Officers and enlisted personnel assigned to cavalry regiments, cavalry squadrons, or separate cavalry troops are authorized to wear cavalry insignia/brass. Fort Rucker has no cavalry units assigned, therefore the cavalry insignia is not authorized for wear on BDU/DBDU, Class A’ or Dress uniforms. Soldiers with a Regimental affiliation with a Cavalry Regiment (or any Regiment) are authorized to wear "Regimental Brass". Soldiers who are or were affiliated with a cavalry unit and were authorized to wear a cavalry hat (Stetson) may mix the wearing of the Cav Hat with an approved Army uniform only during formals, or social events when authorized by the Brigade level commander. The Stetson is not authorized for wear on flight lines, for interviews, for daily wear or as alternate headgear in place of the beret or BDU cap.


Obviously older too, but the regimenal affiliation system hasn't changed too damn muchover the past decade. Skull could help verify as well.


The only thing about the Cav is that CS and CSS members that are in the Cav can wear the Sabres while with the unit. They however CANNOT affiliate themselves with that Cav unit. (If i read Chpt 4 AR 600-82 correctly)

Again, take a look and make up your wn mind. Here at Benning, home of the MCOE, (NOT INFANTRY) you can definatley be assured that it's a point of contention about the sabres/stetson. I got in trouble because I mentioned something about the infantry can "hang themselves with their gay fucking cords" when I get shit talked about the Cav. Because we don't have any tradition either.

Nonetheless, Stetsons were not worn to the CG's Reception, because it wasn't authorized headgear. That's fine. I just get tired of the dick measuring that some IN Officers try to do. STFU. I can do your job, you can't do mine. Proof?? 19As can fill in an 11A slot. 11A can only fill in 19C slots. At least that's what I was told.

I looked around the admin panel last night, and changed a couple of things. I also noticed there wasn't an AROTC or USMA option, so I added those along with a few others, although I did not upload any images.

I do find it ironically apropos that it showed up that way, though. ;)
