South Korea to Send 3,000 Troops to Iraq
Associated Press
Friday, February 13, 2004

SEOUL, South Korea — South Korea's (search) parliament on Friday approved a plan to send 3,000 troops to Iraq in addition to 465 military medics and engineers already there.

The troop dispatch bill was approved in a 155-50 vote.

The dispatch would make South Korea the third-largest contributor to coalition forces after the United States and Britain (search).

South Korea hopes to send the new forces in April to the oil town of Kirkuk (search), in northern Iraq. The new deployment, likely to include special forces commandos and combat-ready marines, will be solely responsible for security and reconstruction around Kirkuk.

LOL.. no not quite a Zerg rush, but if any country ever did have a Zerg rush, I wouldn't be too worried though, I seem to have plenty of Marines and Firebats in bunkers....

^I always thought it would be to one's advantage to be bilingual in the army. Guess it could pull your ass out of a better position eh?

You know, how they're assembling the brigade from a bunch of volunteers all over? How much time are they going to have to form into a cohesive unit? damn, they better not send them in cold turkey...
