ROTC happened! Dude, first it's a training enviornment which sucks to begin with, second it is full of bull shat! Nothing but back stabbing and stupid people.

I've determined to myself that I will NOT become jaded with ROTC. I will not be blind to any of the dumb shit that goes on, but I'm a firm believer that you form your own environment. I figure I'll try to keep that level of bullshit down as I go farther in ROTC. I'm going to try to keep ROTC fun, at least in a twenty-foot bubble around me.

whatever you do, don't become that overly cheerful cadet that you wish just went away.

..Its like anything, you get what you put into it. I motivate myself, without being stupid about it. I try and look at the bigger picture, but dont be a kiss ass or fake either. Without giving it to you like b.s., you'll be a leader, you have to overcome your boredom to motivate those around you....if its too easy, then make it harder for yourself..I also think your cadre might just be as bored as you are..

I went through the same thing with AFROTC. I was known as the apathetic AF cadet who plays Army. Good to know I'm not the only one.

In all seriousness, for all the MSI's, it is good to have a positive attitude. Though out time, you will begin creating your own ideas and seeing more of what goes on within the ARMY, ROTC, and LIFE. Don't be influenced by your higher because they have a bad attitude, sometimes they are right, sometimes not. My point, make your own decisions, do what you have to do, but remember, bullshit is everywhere, life isn't perfect, and people are difficult to trust. Train, lead, be a leader.

Just wait until your an MS IV and your ready to risk disenrollment because you want to punch so many people in the face.

Most MS IVs are truly gay. I'm not trying to blow smoke up your ass. I wouldn't mind punch-a-sizing a few of them in the face. Sometimes its truly too late to help, and all you can do is pray for their soldiers.

...I'm actually not an MS I, I just happen to be an optimist. You need a positive attitude to provide better training to those under you and also to enjoy yourself when you're receiving inadequate training...

A big problem is shitty cadre. If you have a crappy PMS and other cadre who have a defeatist attitude, you can't do anything even as the c/BC...so you just kinda have to close your eyes and avoid the BS.
