If you guys wanna know stress, then branching night would be it (not that I actually went through it). My PMS gave a big long speech about how the year before they had given out fake branches, and how that was cruel and it was no longer gonna be done. They gave out all the branches, and everyone's gettin aviation, except for the last one. They hand the extraordinarily talented, but somewhat unmotivated cadet one bottle of tequila signifying chem corps, the last choice on his wish list. The look on his face was enough to make you cry. After a few minutes of gleefully watching his internal struggles play out on his face, the cadre hand him a toy apache and a pair of aviator glasses. Cruel indeed.

Not true at all. A good friend of mine got chem corps and demanded that he be re-assessed... which he was, to Infantry (just as he wanted). Where there's a will, there's a way...

Same happened to a fellow classmate who was originally assessed finance corps then reassessed into aviation. Things can change, just depends on how determined you are, and how willing your cadre are to help you.

That part is KEY. To be re-assessed, you need to be signed off not only by your PMS but by your Brigade... so cadre support is a must.
Side note, for all of you in AROTC/Eastern Region... the CSM's first name is Major... hah... Command Sergeant Major Major Washington...

Hey, just in case of the need to reassess, how would I go about doing that? What is the procedure?

Speaking from someone who does not have intimate experience with it, I would say that the first step is to find a cadre member that like you and ask them. :)
Seriously, you're going to have to use them as a crutch... as I'm sure you know, any attempt to go over their head will probably look bad on you and them. But they have paperwork to fill out and submit to BDE, I would try to find out from them what it is, and then make sure that they're following up on it.
