I'm Christina. I'm an 18 year old student at Marian College, but I do ROTC through IUPUI. MS II. I'm studying Political Science and Statistics. I'm over in Germany for the summer, which is a blast. I'm new to all this, so if I break the rules just clue me in.

Welcome to AIFA, just a heads up now that you've posted a picture and named the school that you go to... Don't say anything stupid about yourself or your program that you wouldnt want everyone in the world to hear. This happened with my school on AIFA, and something I posted went all the way to the Pentagon thanks so some of our senior friends on the board ;-). It got all the way back to my ROTC BN, and a kid got kicked out for posting pictures on the internet of himself (not me) saluting a Hitler statue. I guess the point of all this is to remind you that this Webforum does not operate in a vacuum.

Sorry for not being around as much. Airjun and I have been here at Knox (MOBC) for three weeks and we've been pretty busy. Feels like they stuck a firehose in my mouth and they want me to swallow it all. And we haven't even started Tactics phase yet....

Oh well. Not that it matters, but I do try to keep up with things here :D

Do you feel that they are teaching more "scout tactics" in the classes now?

(P.S. As a benchmark, consider that in the "regular line unit" armor classes, they didn't teach ANY scout tactics when I went through. I had to all but marry the Post Commander's daughter to be able to drop it & start scout "school.")

I suppose that saying I'm in MOBC would be false, it's technically MBOLC III, which is supposed to be different. Yes, they are teaching scout stuff, a lot of it too. All of our FTX's and our COE (Current Operating Environment) Exercise towards the end will involve scout activities. What they told us was that the MBOLC II model is two weeks shorter than MOBC, but has two extra weeks worth of Scout/Cavalry training which means I don't get weekends worth a shit. It's not a feeling Skull, it's a direct and very deliberate portion of the course.

Not that I don't mind learning Light stuff w/ me heading to Ft. Drum. But originally on ATTRS our Graduation date was 16 Nov. and that changed to 9 Nov. So why not have us go to the 16th and give us a few more weekends?? Especially since the 'ol lady is about read to burst out my daughter here in the next few weeks.....wouldn't mind seeing her and what not (Since Indy is only 2.5 hours away). But I suppose there is a reason why others make the big bucks...to make decisions like that. SLC for me starts on 26 Nov.
