I guess if I gotta vote, I'll vote for number three. Because in a way I feel like I'm voting for Domer. Anyways, it wasn't a bandwidth issue but a database size issue. I'm sure Gambit can tell you that it really isn't making a large dent in the space usage, but if it keeps going it will be. Sorry to be a party pooper.

oh, come on, give me a break... do you need somewhere to store the DB? space is too cheap to be complaining about.

Yes I know, cheap indeed. See the following topic for a better explaination:

I'll unlock it because I love you guys so much, but I'm warning you...

yeah, you know, i was gonna reply to it, but decided to hold off... now, you're in trouble. ;)

here's the thing.. for the record, space and bandwidth are not affected by number of posts; the additional space required by a database to hold two posts of, say, 50 characters vs. 1 post of 100 chars is negligible, and db size has nothing to do with bandwidth... similarly, he amount of bandwidth taken by the header and footer of each post is not worth the space to complain about it.

second, if you're worried about 'dick' and 'fart' jokes... well, you'll have to lock all of our accounts, i think... isn't that part of the fun of being here? people are getting great advice (here and there), just spiced with a liberal dose of 'WTFo?'. Consider it the personality of the site... like anything else controlled by the masses, you'll only kill it if you try to regulate it. love it for what it is... i.e. NOT platoonleader.org, or any other Army-controlled site where they''' probably give you an Article 15 for saying something stupid. Remember why there's no UIsForUSMA (if not, see here: http://www.aisforarmy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=452 )?

in short... FREE THE POINTLESS THREAD...!

Oh, wait, you did.

well, that's my $0.02, anyway. enjoy. and stop bitching. :b

Well clearly you glazed over the point of that linked post I made. The comment about DB space usage was merely an excuse. Mainly because most of the Butcher Block members are too ignorant to question any further. The point I was attempting to make, poorly maybe, was that "Dick and Fart" jokes are more than welcome. Just don't turn a thread like "How do you conduct a squad attack?" into endless Office Space quotes. I like pointless bullshit as much as the next guy, but I just don't like having to scroll through 5 pages of drivel to get to some truly useful info. This isn't to say that useful info can't be laced with humor or even presented in a cynical manner, just as long as it doesn't stray too far off topic.
