As many of you have beaten me to the punch, I'll keep my ramblings short.
Yes, this week's comic (http://www.aisforarmy.com/comics/?comic=&date=20051207) is poking fun at those Army commercials that show how the new guy on the job has a bunch of experience due to the Army. The guy is always really smug about it, too. The kind of smugness that would get your or my ass kicked back at the hangar breakroom or the firehouse.
And the Army wonders why they can't keep people in. Their fucking recruiting commercial shows young, racially diverse key deomgraphics how great you'll do in your job after you get out.
They should have the civillian in the commercials saying inspiring things like:
"Hey Domer, bet you never got paid this fuckin' much, eh!?"
or
"Hey Domer, bet you're glad you got out before the Army really got you by the balls!"
or
"Hey Domer, they may have put up with your cocky ass in today's Army, but back in 'Nam, my Sergeant MAjor would've kicked me in the teeth for that kind of sass, mister! Get back to work!"
or
"Hey Domer, when we finish up here, let's go toss back a few Red & Whites and cornhole Bruce from dispatch!"
Well, not so much that last one, but you know firemen.
