Was just curious; If I get done with my active duty committment in the army and want to try out another branch, does anyone know if I can be directly commissioned as an officer since I would be prior service? Just curious, thanks for the replies!

Yes, that's entirely possible. Someone else can probably tell you more specifically as far as a how-to, but I have seen plenty (probably way too many) people switch from one serivce to another.
I'm guessing it's the same type of thing as a branch transfer, and that your time in service carries over (you'd probably just have to take a new type of OBC or something, depending on the service you're going to). Of course, if you're going the the Marines, they'd put you through the whole wringer just for the fun of it.

I beleive we have one member on this forum who was originally AF than went Army. Try private messaging Skull6, as he isn't online too much. http://www.aisforarmy.com/forum/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=34

Normally you'll take a hit in your pay grade, and certain branches won't take officers from others. Like AF dosen't like Army and Marine transfers, but it's possible. Unless you're some sort of special field like a Doctor or Lawyer, which anybody'll take.
