View Full Version : Does Anybody Still Care?
Domer

Care, that is, that a new comic is up for your perusal. And your flame-ridden posts afterwords, if the past is any indicator of your overall response to the strip.
Anyway, enjoy, and I will continue this string of missing deadlines, but not by much, and delivering sub-standard entertainment.
New comic is here
http://www.aisforarmy.com/comics/?comic=&date=20050817
But you should give some thought on learning how to use the navigation bar at the top of the page...

They're funny, for sure, Domer, but this whole continuity thing is for the birds. When did we start getting storylines, anyway? Whatever happened to the ones that made fun of ROTC and cadets, or the Army in general? Like the cardboard cutouts at PT, or the Rifle Awareness classic, or How To Tell An Army Cadet From An AF Cadet. I'm not bashing, just giving constructive criticism.
TheTokenGook
17 August 2005, 15:46
I like the continuity. It's nice to have a storyline sometimes interupted by a random comic. I think AIFA and AWACKer comics do that well, and I sit at my computer like a poor sap every week looking forward to the next comic.

If you are going to constructively criticize, then you need to have an AAR, three sustains, three improves
CombatCady
17 August 2005, 17:11
Sustain: General level of "teh funneh" is high.
Improve: Basically reused the same jokes a few weeks in a row (nutritious blue liquid, etc.)
Sustain: Artwork has gotten better.
Improve: Not so much "continuity." (Sorry, TG, but I gotta disagree here)
Sustain: Letting us know when a new comic is up is great.
Improve: Have 'em on time, I guess, though that's not something I'm gonna press too hard on.

as the one the most vocal for a new comic, i feel the need to say something.... thanks goodness, i needed a comic, but come on domer, it is good and all, drinking the blue shit water, but i agree with cady
drive on, hooah

for christs sake, if you're gonna do an AAR, do it right:
Issue:
Discussion:
Recommendation:
CombatCady
17 August 2005, 18:15
I opened it up for discussion, and I don't really want to give a "recommendation" beyond what I've already done, because it's not really MY creation.
Domer
18 August 2005, 01:36
Don't worry, that's the last you'll hear of the blue fluid... I, myself, am not a fan of the continuity, and considering this is the fist time i've done it, and you people hate it, don't expect it in the future...

18 August 2005, 08:22
props to dome, for being the only person here who can take criticism without getting all pissy

Domer

Yeah, but only if its actual criticism, not just bitching. That's what you have all done in the past...

Domer,

---TEX
Yes, Cady is right, suspension of disbeleif. It's a tool used in comics to drive home the absurdity of the situation. How could anyone grow a Moses beard in a night?!? It's a freakin' comic, it doesn't have to make sense. Especially my comic.
KN is also right, if I don't shave for a whole day, I have to put up a scarecrow to keep the birds from nesting.
CombatCady
26 August 2005, 02:36
Meanwhile, I haven't shaved in a week and I'm just now starting to pass for my real age, lol.
CDT_TEX
26 August 2005, 11:26
well, yeah obviously the suspension of belief is useful. It's not like Garfield can really kick a dog off a table. Have you ever seen a cat kick anything? I think not. I hate shaving. It's so nice to have a receding hairline at age 20 in combination with the ability to grow a Grizzly Adams beard...

kick no, but my cat has tried to throw my dog off of stuff

KN is also right, if I don't shave for a whole day, I have to put up a scarecrow to keep the birds from nesting.
Reminds me of the convo we once had:
Domer: I shaved yesterday at 5 (rubs grizzly face)
TG: Yeah, I haven't shaved in 2 wks[/smartass] (rubbing still relatively smooth skin)
it's the Asian skin man. I only shave once a week, and I don't even have to do that.
Domer
31 August 2005, 10:42
You bastard. You have to rub it in... Another reason why I hate you.

such a boy.....its from a movie. ugh.
he probably knew that, but no way in hell would a sane guy kiss a hooker anywhere near her holiest of holies
but Aries probably would if it was Kimber (not a hooker, but still)
Skull6
1 September 2005, 11:51
She wasn't a hooker...
at least, she didn't demand any payment after I got through with her. (She WAS smiling much, though. :D)
Aries
1 September 2005, 12:18
hey. KIMBER IS CLEAN DAMMIT!!
obviously you dont watch the show or you would know that.
Skull6
1 September 2005, 12:26
Nope. It was described to me as porn with an attempted plot, which puts it the show into the "might watch it if no one else {read: kids & wife} are home" category.
TheTokenGook
1 September 2005, 14:40
it's actually good to watch with the signifcant other.
As for Kimber, she's a good girl to be with, if you don't mind all the men she's fucked and the coke habit
If that bothers you, you can just screw the doll version of her
Skull6
1 September 2005, 14:45
I got "other things" to do with Mrs. Skull6 when we find ourselves by ourselves--which doesn't ahppen very often with 4 rugrats running around.
Like paying bills...:D
TheTokenGook
1 September 2005, 14:48
sure sure
paying the bills? Is that what they call it these days? Back in my day we called it "doing the hippidy dippidy"
"Paying the bills" is part of the gf and my preshow tradition 8-)
Skull6
1 September 2005, 14:54
We do the "horizontal bop" as often as we can...& when she's "in the mood".
I'm always "in the mood"...which is why we have 4 kids :D
Associate289
1 September 2005, 18:26

1 September 2005, 18:30
I'm happily married, didn't need to.
& since #4 arrived, both of us have "fixed" that problem.
(Anyone remember that song in the movie "The Meaning of Life" that pertains to his topic?)

2 September 2005, 00:04
Ok dick, where was our comic for this week?
Domer
2 September 2005, 00:05
It was never drawn. Maybe next week.
Next question.
Wes
2 September 2005, 00:14
Why is your mom such a whore? I mean according to these guys she has slept with like half of AIFA...
Domer
2 September 2005, 00:19
Because she has very low standards, and loose morals. She'd sleep with ALL of AIFA if she had the money for plane tickets.
TheTokenGook
2 September 2005, 00:20
I hadn't tapped that yet

What kind of women's underwear do you prefer to wear?
And why do you dress up in women's clothing?
Cerebroden
2 September 2005, 11:02
preferably the high cut ones so they don't cut into my thighs, but I need the added support so my balls don't hang out the sides
disclaimer: yea I have no clue what I'm talking about but I thought it'd be funny
anyways I'm headed down south for the weekend everyone be safe on this massive drinking holiday oh and by the way FUCK THE CANES, ALL OF THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!
Domer
2 September 2005, 13:44
Yes i have kissed a girl. Zirk's mom, among others.
I suck at life because I have motivation problems. And i was dropped as a baby.
I prefer Hanes her way but only for rappelling. I don't wear women's underwear for recreation.
I only wore women's clothing on purpose on two occasions. Both were halloweens. I must say I preferred the skirt to the dress, though. There's other stuff I may have worn by accident. Like socks. But i guess that really doesn't count.
Ok, good round. Now you guys are probably sickened by the amount of information you really didn't want to know about.
