So, my school's newspaper runs this section every monday that lists all the minor in possession citations given out over the weekend and such. I happened to notice that one of my fellow MS I cadets had the following printed about him: (name changed naturally)
"1:30am, Sunday Nov. 2; Oregon State Police attended to an unresponsive male subject in Sackett Hall. It was determined that JOHN SMITH, 18, was unconscious due to alcohol overdose. He was transported by medics and cited for minor in possession."
Can anyone tell me if the Cadre is going to even care about this or kick him out or what's gonna happen to him? Personally I just find it ironic, since he JUST did Ranger Challenge LAST WEEKEND!

Your big problem is likely not the fact that the kids was passed out drunk, but the fact that he got caught. Probably depends on whether or not your cadre like to make examples of people...?
By the same token, though, how did they cite him for MIP if he was passed out? The fact that his stomach was full of alcohol?

My school has a reputation for citing you after you've passed out or puked or whatever. They site them for "minor in possession by consumption" I have a friend who was puking in the girl's bathroom and an OSP trooper came in and cited her for MIP. They're really brutal here. But I think it's b/c we've had a couple of deaths related to Alcohol. Mostly at frats, but they're trying to crack down everywhere as a result.
So you guys don't think he's going to be kicked out? I was worried they would kick him out for it...

Well, there's always the chance, but I'd guess it's not really a large one, unless your cadre are real pricks. It would certainly be a lot worse if the guy was doing something seriously illegal like drugs and got caught... then it's not a matter of age, even. But I know people that have gotten their stomach pumped, had word get to the cadre, and nothing happenned. Probably too much paperwork to do for an alcohol violation.

yup, just like what Gambit said, it depends on how your cadre are. Just like here in my school, the 2 past wing commanders broke the law and the honor code. One of the CC stole some artifact from the school museum the year before, and still got in the air force. The other cheated on his PFT, or so i heard. But they still got their commission and pilot slot, Them stupid basterds! Strange how these guys get through, even if they did break the rules and law. But, that alcohol offense is really a minor one. I don't think he would be kicked out. I think that's a mistermeaner(sp?) just a minor one.

Dark Phinx still hasn't figured out that ROTC programs play favorites. Some cadets just have it made. They can fail tests, suck at everything, but apparently they handed out enough hand jobs to the cadre to earn themselves a easy ride. Like everyone has said before, it really depends on your cadre, any prior offenses, etc. Too many variables to give advice on. Just hope that your schools cadre are easy going and let him off with a wall to wall counselling session.

WTF is this AF guy doing here anyway, good lord, did he not get a clue  ?. Its funny how the mast exdous that brought a bunch of AF guys over to the Army is because the shit the AF tried to pull in their program.

Yeah, they play favorites in AFROTC. That's one reason why I got out, becuase I would definitley be put behind a dozen or so dipshits in the rack in stack. While I didn't do anything "wrong", I screwed up a lot in the cadre's eyes. Why put a cadet like me high in the rack and stack that is co enrolled in AROTC, is in an Army based organization, turned down the AF scholarship after 1 yr, when you can put some dipshit Arnold Air kid, who gives out free handjobs to the Col? They can screw up as much as they want, but they would alwyas be higher then me becuase I don't suck up and I'm "running around playing Army" Especially since the past few years they've been paranoid as hell about cadets switching over. They just need to look at themselves and see that tehy're the fucking problem.

But I thought you did hand out free handjobs TG? I was saying that AROTC plays favorites, but I'm sure it's the same way when you "Cross Into the Blue"

Whatever the case, I think all three of us are glad we're out of that program. The DET here really does suck ass.

Howdy all, actually I've been arrested for Public Intox, I got the case dismissed and the cadre just made get into a detox program. I had a problem, they helped me fix it up again. In the great state of Alabama, Public Intox is a violation (go figure in a state of drunk rednecks) but just drink responsibily if you do and don't turn into an alcoholic and it all works out...
