get a job with FDNY, finally get laid, get married, have 2 kids, get my Ranger Tab. Besides that, anything else in life would just be a bonus

get a job with FDNY,

next test isnt until october 2006, ill be taking it with you. and unless you have city residency, you'll be wayyyyyyy back on the list, even if you score perfect. veterans points do help though.

Be the man behind the man behind the man that rules the world. Live on a jet, and spend my time visiting my friends and throwing parties. Also right there with camper on the 'visit every country' tip.

In a nutshell, a cross between John Travolta in Swordfish and Thomas Crown (tilted towards the latter).

Own a ranch, raise some horses, grow a little hay. Want my wife and I to have some kids, take them camping, get into snowmobiling, and get old with my wife. I want to get season tickets too, I don't care what team, just go to games.

Before I am 50:

-Get married
-have a son
-killed 5 people (legally)
-Have been in law enforcement
-saved someone's life
-have enough money to live comfortably
-visited Europe
-Visited all 50 states(only Maine and Hawaii to go)
-have a college degree
-to still be able to say(truthfully) that I've never done an illegal drug

Visit all of Europe's ancient/medieval landmarks, get a job with the FBI or other government agency, be rich enough to have a boat and maybe a little Piper Cub plane or something. Also get SCUBA certified, skydive certified, pilot's license, etc.

Associate, I knew about the FDNY test in '06. You can sure as hell bet I'll be there for it. I may have a way around the residency thing. One of the guys who used to be in my one Co. is now with FDNY (45 Engine) and he was saying I could use his address when I took the test for the added bonus points[/quote]

Good idea as long as you realize that the FDNY has caught onto that. They'll ask you questions like what train do you take to get to midtown from your house and stuff like that. Just a heads up.

Get published in Asimov or Analog.

Herd, why FDNY specifically? They do a great job, don't get me wrong - but why NYC specifically?

HerdROTC

Not really sure why. I'd give Baltimore a look as well as DC. There is no sum of money that would get me to wanna work in Philly or Boston (hate their accent and their dept. only hires a handful of guys a year.) I want a large city somewhere in the northeast. I guess FDNY just has the prestige and all.

As far as what I am
Did 6 weeks of basic training in 03 before I called my mom and she gave me some bad news dad lost his job and they were gonna lose everything so I choose to ELS outta the army and come home and work my ass off to help my parents out and save the house which I did now 2 years my waiting time to go back is up and my parents are fine so I will once again be going to basic training all over again I know some people are gonna give me shit for not finishing but I made a choice to save my parents house and save them from losing everything they worked so hard for

Hope that answers your question un4
