Apparently those things are next to invisible when viewed with NODs, which is the most important thing... 'cuz we all know how often zoomies are acutally out walking around the battlefield, right?

I couldn't handle it when I saw this uniform, here's some choise qoutes from an article at http://usmilitary.about.com/cs/airforce/a/newafuniform_2.htm
“It’s wash and wear, and that’s my kind of uniform,” Wyatt said.
Capt. Rachel Sullivan, from the 89th Maintenance Group at Andrews was surprised.**** “They’re … blue!” she exclaimed
“I like it; the material reminds me of the old fatigues,” Jones said. “It’s lightweight (and) it looks like it conforms better to the body. And it’s Air Force blue, ooh-rah! It’s good to be back in the Air Force.”
“I like (the blouse) tucked in,” she said. “It looks super.”

It'll help a lot for all those blue trees and shrubs there are? Ok, ok, I tried, and will never again feel bad about wearing Army green again. Serves them right for having nicer food/people/bases.

You know what it is that bothers me the most about this? It just looks so god-damned FOREIGN!. I mean I'd expect to see Belgian Paratroopers wearing some schmuck get-up like this, but the US? We've always had the most bad-ass looking uniforms, but I don't know if I can stick to my guns on this one. I mean DAMN. Honestly, it's like i'm in a bad episode of Star Trek all of a sudden.
Here's a bit taken from an AF research and development video I saw the other day on the new BDU. For all those who may not know, and are too lazy or apathetic to find out a SSgt is an E-5 and an A1C (Airman first class) is an E-3.
AF SSgt: Holy Crap! The French are overrunning our perimeter!*
AF A1C: How do we hide now, Sarge? We got these blue fatigues!**
AF SSgt: Hurry*** over to the laundromat! We're sure not to be seen in all the dirty BDU laundry!
AF A1C: Good thinking, Sarge!
Notes: *Assuming the AF knows what a perimeter is. He probably means they flashed an ID at the gate and were let in.
** Apparently AF guys still call sergeants "Sarge". And I know they still call the BDU "fatigues".
*** By hurry, he means 'get in the golf car,' not run.
All's I got to say is somebody shoot this whole thing in the head before it gets out of hand. Soon my PT belt will be a permanent sewn-in part of my Class As, which will be all Gore-Tex, and made by Tommy Hilfiger.
Fuck.

whats with the Marine Corps/ Navy style cover?
They didn't want to be left out of the "Pointless and Uncomfortable" Hat Club. Apparently the Marines, with their spiky hats, and the Army, with their gay berets, were taking all the action away from the AF at the local gay bars.
