This is carried over from a topic at edodo's Rumor Mill: http://www.edodo.org/rumormill/viewtopic.php?t=3340

If you can't access that, try the news article here. (http://pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/index.ssf?/xml/story.ssf/html_standard.xsl?/base/news/106284064888450.xml)

Apparently the guys over at MilitaryCorruption.com (http://www.militarycorruption.com) have pissed off some of the brass at Carlisle Barracks. The site is run by several retired Vietnam-era officers. The stories they've posted are pretty explicit as far as naming actual names and citing actual events. The site is battling a post wide block on their web address, calling it a breech of the 1st amendment. This isn't the first time, the Air Force has blocked access to eDodo.org at the Academy. I'm not sure what gives them this right or their reasoning behind it. Imagine going to a college where they restricted what you can read or write. This is very reminiscent of the Soviet and Red China tactics of total political control. I for one think it's very wrong, and only adds flame to the fire of controversy and lowers our trust in our own Military. How ironic is it that our troops fight and die to give Iraqis and Afghanis the right to free speech, while our own government takes that right away from those very same troops. Think about it....

p.s. : for those of you who are thinking I'm just some dirty hippy waving a peace symbol flag, you're wrong. I do believe strongly in a limit to freedom of speech. Far too often, the American media reveals too much information. When National security is concerned, I believe in withholding information. There are certain things we just don't need to know. The safety of our men/women in uniform is far more important than letting the public know ever detail of a military operation.

p.s.p.s. : Geraldo sucks!
